5 minute makeovers

  • Add some tarragon leaves to your sausages while cooking, it makes a subtle but sublime difference. Serve with caramelised onions.
  • Add a sprinkle of paprika and chilli flakes to your vegetable soup
  • Easy but impressive garnishes: shred long chillies and 5cm lengths of spring onions (the white bit) but leaving the tops attached. Soak in a bowl of iced water so that the ends curl up.
  • Freeze berries and other fruit in water in ice cube trays to serve in summer drinks
  • Slices of lemon and sprigs of fresh mint in water jugs
  • Sifted icing sugar can hide flaws in cakes and other desserts hehe. As can drizzled chocolate.
  • A quick and easy chocolate sauce – melt dark chocolate over a hot water bath, and stir in cream and a dash of your favourite liqueur.
